Jerry Hall and Joanne McNally's 'smoke breaks' delay Celebrity Traitors filming
Jerry Hall and Joanne McNally's frequent visits to the smoking area have reportedly been holding up filming on Celebrity Traitors.
Jerry Hall and Joanne McNally's frequent visits to the smoking area have been holding up filming on Celebrity Traitors.
The 69-year-old model has struck up a friendship with the Irish comic after spending a lot of one-on-one time with her due to their shared habit, but producers are said to be getting frustrated by the breaks in filming that have been needed to accommodate their cigarette and vape cravings.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Jerry and Joanne have been giggling in the smoking corner together and some members of the crew have been trying to gently hurry them along.
“It’s a massive production with lots of moving parts so everyone is on a tight schedule.
“Of course, the gameplay is pretty stressful so, if anything, it’s making their habit worse.”
Host Claudia Winkleman is currently filming the show at Scotland's Cardross Castle, and bosses at production company Studio Lambert, which is based in London, are taking strict measures to prevent the public finding out which of the contestants will be this year's Traitors.
Locks have been installed in the editing suite, and staff are forbidden from talking about the show outside the buillding.
An insider said: “They’re saying it’s become like The Masked Singer set-up, which is shrouded in secrecy with sealed production rooms.
“Only a few people are allowed in and out.”
This year's contestants include the likes of actor Michael Sheen, signer James Blunt, and Love Island presenter Maya Jama, and it was claimed earlier this week that security has been stepped up to support the cast.
A source told The Sun: "Although most of the stars are British, so many of them are used to working in America that their teams are used to the Hollywood treatment.
"They don’t want to find themselves thrust into the spotlight, or put in any kind of danger, so demand substantial security the minute they arrive.
"But it’s also more than a little bizarre because Inverness [airport] is pretty quiet and remote - it’s not like arriving at JFK or LAX Airport."
The publication reports more of the cast flew to Scotland ahead of filming instead of taking the train and they will be given their own chauffeur-driven cars instead of being ferried around in a mini-bus like last year's cast of The Celebrity Traitors.
The insider added: "The production team have little choice, however, than to cater for their demands because they accept the number of A-listers taking part in this year’s show makes it exceptional."
The cast for the new series also includes The Last Of Us star Bella Ramsey, actor-turned-documentary maker Ross Kemp, Coronation Street star Julie Hesmondhalgh, former Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and actor Richard E. Grant.
