Schitt's Creek is coming to BBC iPlayer this weekend.

The beloved sitcom, which was created by and stars father and son duo Eugene and Dan Levy, first started airing in 2015, before hitting Netflix in the UK from 2017 until last month, when all episodes were removed from the streaming platform.

However, now the BBC has confirmed its own streamer will become the new home of Schitt's Creek for fans in the UK.

All episodes of the show will be available to watch on iPlayer from June 6.

In a press release, the BBC said: "Schitt’s Creek follows the adventures of the wealthy Rose family, who lose their fortune when their business manager embezzles funds from their video store company.

"Father Johnny (Eugene Levy), his former soap opera actress wife Moira (Catherine O’Hara) and their adult children David (Dan Levy) and Alexis (Annie Murphy) are forced to sell their family mansion and move to a small town, where they must adjust to a very different way of life."

The show ran for six seasons, and came to an end in 2020.

Showrunner and actor Dan, 42, recently admitted while he considered bringing the show back, any plans for a revival have been scrapped after Catherine O'Hara's death.

The actress died aged 71 in January after a brief illness, and Dan revealed how that impacted his desire for more Schitt's Creek.

Asked if he would make more episodes, he told CBS' Sunday Morning: "No, not now. We can't. I was thinking about it."

Dan revisited Goodwood, Ontario, which acted as the fictional town in the show, for the interview in April.

He admitted: "It's tough, it's tough being back. I didn't think that I'd have quite an emotional reaction.

"Just a lot of memories, a lot of memories with Catherine. It's what you have to hold on to, is the memories of it all."

He tearfully admitted they all "had the best time" making the show.

He added: “It's an amazing thing to be a part of something that she loved so much. You know, it feels very special. It's what you have to hold onto, is the memories of it all.”
