Tom Swarbrick 'in talks' to join Good Morning Britain
Good Morning Britain viewers were impressed with Tom Swarbrick's performance in co-anchoring the ITV breakfast show with Ranvir Singh last week.
Tom Swarbrick is reportedly in talks to join Good Morning Britain's guest presenter roster after he wowed viewers with his recent stint.
Fans lauded the 39-year-old broadcaster's performance anchoring the ITV breakfast show with Ranvir Singh for three days last week as the pair covered regular hosts Susanna Reid, 55, and ex-Labour Party politician Ed Balls, 59, who were on a break during the May half-term holiday.
An insider told The Sun: "It’s early days, but there are conversations being had about Tom returning in the near future.
"He was an instant hit with viewers, managing to connect with them effortlessly through the screen.
"Although he’s an established broadcaster, he’s new to Good Morning Britain, and it’s thought he’ll help to shake up the status quo a bit."
A Good Morning Britain spokesperson added: "GMB features different guest presenters when the show’s main presenters are on annual leave.”
Viewers showered Tom - who made his Good Morning Britain debut in March when he reviewed the headlines - with praise on X.
One fan penned: "Loving these two. Tom and Ranvir need to be seen more. Thoroughly enjoying #gmb (sic)."
A second supporter typed: "Really impressed with Tom Swarbrick on the show, very professional, definitely an asset to the programme."
And a third follower wrote: "Tom Swarbrick great addition to the prog. He's v knowledgeable and not intimidated from giving his opinion.
"He's a keeper.."
However, Tom - who presents the weekday Drive radio show on LBC - felt nervous on his first day in the presenter's chair on Bank Holiday Monday (25.05.26).
Ranvir introduced her sidekick and reminded viewers that they may have seen him on ITV's This Morning discussing the day's top stories.
Tom replied: "A lot of This Morning but the first time sitting here, so it's an absolute thrill!"
Ranvir quipped: "Well, we normally like to give everyone a warm welcome. We've given you a record-breaking hot welcome today", referencing the ongoing UK heatwave.
"If you want to take your jacket off, if you want to take your tie off, just go for it, if you want to chill out. You're more than welcome! How were you getting up 'early' early this morning?"
Tom admitted: "It's been, you know, a sleepless, sweaty night, but it's a great thrill and privilege to be here, so thank you very much for having me."
Good Morning Britain has introduced guest presenters, including Ed, Richard Madeley, 70, Adil Ray, 52, Martin Lewis, 54, and Rob Rinder, 48, following 61-year-old Piers Morgan's sudden exit in 2021.
