EastEnders' Tony Discipline interrupted by fan while putting out fire
Actor-turned-firefighter Tony Discipline had to remind a homeowner, whose shed and tree were engulfed in flames, to let him and his London Fire Brigade crew put out the roaring blaze first before chatting about EastEnders.
A starstruck homeowner was more focused on quizzing Tony Discipline about EastEnders than him extinguishing a roaring blaze in his garden.
The actor - who has worked as a firefighter for the London Fire Brigade since he stopped playing Tyler Moon in 2013 after two years - told the viewer that they could discuss the BBC soap once he and the crew got the fire under control and put it out.
Tony, 37, recalled to The Sun on behalf of CasinoHawks: "One moment that always sticks in my mind was when this guy’s shed in his garden was fully alight. Not only that, the fire was starting to take hold of a tree as well, which was close to the fence.
"We’re running a hose through his house and out into the garden, with the fire going mad. Suddenly, he stops me and goes, ‘Oh my God, were you on EastEnders?’
"And then he completely forgets there’s a fire going on and starts asking me questions about it while I’ve literally got a hose in my hand.
"I just said, ‘Look, we can talk about this after. I think it’s probably best I go and put your shed out first!’”
Tony quit EastEnders in 2013, but he has not ruled out a return to the soap.
He said: "I’ve not [been asked back yet], but never say never.
"I’d always be open to having the conversation. I loved my time there, and who knows what the future holds.”
Tony arrived in Albert Square as Tyler as part of the Moon family, with dad Eddie Moon (David Essex) and brother Anthony Moon (Matt Lapinskas).
Tyler struck up a romance with Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and the pair got engaged before he left Walford.
In March, Tony and Shona, 34, sparked romance rumours when she posted a sweet selfie of the pair getting cosy on St. Patrick's Day (17.03.26) on Instagram.
She captioned the upload: "What are the chances.”
On May 8, the pair looked cosy as they posed together on the red carpet at the Women’s Football Awards.
