Strictly Come Dancing judges Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood have urged new hosts Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe to be themselves.

The pair do not think the new presenters - who make their debut in September - should replicate their predecessors, Tess Daly, 57, and Claudia Winkleman, 54, who quit the BBC Latin and Ballroom dance show at the end of the 2025 series in December.

Anton, 59, told the new issue of Bella magazine: "Don't try to be the other two girls because you won't be.

"Be yourself, you've been chosen because you're obviously amazing. The show is the show, just become part of it.

"Don't think that you've got to be anything bigger, and Strictly will carry you along because it's an incredible show.

"My advice is to enjoy yourself."

Craig, 61, added: "And become part of the family because that's what Strictly is."

With Emma, 50, Josh, 43, and 39-year-old Johannes' signings came axings, as Strictly Come Dancing bosses got rid of professional dancers Karen Hauer, 44, Nadiya Bychkova and Luba Mushtuk, both 36, Gorka Marquez, 35, and Michelle Tsiakkas, 30, as part of a big shake-up of the programme for 2026.

And the changes to the show are welcomed by Anton and Craig.

Craig said: "When I'm casting a musical, and it's been on in the West End for a year, I generally re-cast for the following year to freshen it up so other people can move on to bigger and better things.

"I never try and keep someone in a job longer than that."

Anton is pleased that there have been no changes to the judging line-up, which also features Head Judge Shirley Ballas, 65, and 45-year-old Motsi Mabuse.

He said: "I'm more than happy to stay in the job longer than I should be. You can freshen up everything around the judges!"

The BBC has not announced the celebrities who will be battling it out for the coveted Glitterball Trophy this year.

But EastEnders icon Lacey Turner, 38, TV presenter Jeff Brazier, 47, and Neighbours alum Delta Goodrem, 41, are some of the names tipped to join.

Strictly Come Dancing is back on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn.
