Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall and girlfriend Ellie Dolan ‘split’ after deleting all traces of romance from social media
The Coronation Street actor has reportedly ended his relationship with Ellie Dolan after more than a year together, with the pair unfollowing each other on social media months after sharing loved-up family photographs and New Year celebrations online.
Alan Halsall is said to have quietly split from his girlfriend Ellie Dolan after more than a year together.
The Coronation Street actor, 43, who is best known for playing long-running mechanic Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, had been dating Ellie, 26, since late 2024 after the pair met at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Worsley Park Country Club, where Ellie worked as a human resources coordinator and Alan was a member.
Their romance became public in May 2025, months after Alan returned to the UK following his appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in Australia.
But with the pair having now seemingly removed all traces of each other from social media, the Daily Mail reported on Tuesday (26.05.26) the pair’s relationship was over.
A source told the publication: “Alan and Ellie have a lot of respect for each other and got on like a house on fire.
“Friends and family could see how they were both smitten with each other from the beginning and had lots in common.
“However, when it came to day-to-day life pressures they ultimately realised they were moving in different directions.”
The Mail also reported the pair are “at very different stages in their lives”.
It added “their dedication to their children and family-oriented outlook on life was something they both valued in each other”.
Their apparent split comes as Coronation Street continues to face major changes behind the scenes amid ongoing discussion about soap ratings and ITV’s primetime schedules.
At the start of the year, Ellie shared a New Year’s Eve selfie showing her and Alan kissing during celebrations at home.
In another photograph posted at the time, the pair posed alongside Alan’s family, including his brother Stephen and mother Michelle Roberts.
A source previously MailOnline Alan had been “smitten” with Ellie following the start of their relationship.
The pair are now no longer following each other on social media, while photographs of one another have disappeared from their respective accounts.
In recent weeks, Alan has instead shared photographs with his daughter Sienna, 12, who he had with his former wife Lucy-Jo Hudson.
Alan first confirmed the relationship publicly when he reposted a photograph showing himself smiling alongside Ellie, with Sienna standing between them.
Ellie, who largely stayed out of the spotlight during their relationship, has two children from a previous relationship.
Earlier this year, Ellie posted a photograph from their first New Year’s Eve together, sharing a selfie in which she kissed the actor during the celebrations.
The couple also made public appearances together, including at the wedding of Alan’s Coronation Street co-star Jack P. Shepherd and his wife Hanni last July.
Alan was photographed smiling as he held Ellie’s hand while arriving at the ceremony.
Alan previously dated his Coronation Street co-star Tisha Merry for five years before the pair split in 2024.
The actors first met in 2014, before beginning a relationship in 2019 after Tisha left her role as Steph Britton on the ITV soap.
Before that, Alan was married to former Hollyoaks actress Lucy-Jo.
The couple separated in 2018 after sharing daughter Sienna together.
Away from his relationships, Alan has also attracted attention in recent years for his fitness transformation.
Following his divorce from Lucy-Jo, the actor adopted a stricter health and fitness regime, regularly documenting gym sessions on Instagram alongside fellow Coronation Street star Colson Smith, who has spoken publicly about his own dramatic weight-loss journey.
Alan has played Tyrone on Coronation Street for more than two decades, becoming one of the soap’s most recognisable faces through major storylines involving domestic abuse, family struggles and his long-running relationship with Fiz Stape.
Alongside his soap success, Alan also gained renewed attention after competing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, where viewers praised his humour and candid discussions about life away from Weatherfield.
