Leigh Francis has been left with a bloodied cut after an overexcited fan accidentally scraped her thumbnail across his face.

The 53-year-old comedian showed off the nasty scratch, which ran across his temple and narrowly missed his eye, on TikTok, hours after the incident happened while he was DJing at Sound Bites festival, Syon Park, London, over the weekend.

In a video, Leigh explained: "I went into the crowd, and someone was overcome with joy, so that was a nice feeling, until she went, ‘I love you’, and put her hands towards my face, and her thumbnail, which was quite long, did that."

The star - known for playing Keith Lemon - showed the red raw scratch to his followers.

Leigh continued: "Could’ve been worse, could’ve gone in my eye, but, yeah, bit of a naughty one that, innit?"

The entertainer's fans were shocked by his injury in the post's comments section, as one penned: "Jeez! Pal, I hope you're OK."

A second supporter typed: "Ouch! I'm glad you are OK!"

And a third follower wrote: "Crikey. That looks brutal!! (sic)"

In a separate video, Leigh became his alter ego Avid Merrion to say the injury made him appear as a "sexy action hero", warn people not to get "too drunk", and that he was going to stand further away from the crowd next time.

Leigh's DJ set injury came months after he teased his TV career was finished following Through The Keyhole and Celebrity Juice being shelved in 2020 and 2022, respectively.

In September, the performer told fans in an Instagram Live: "I don't know when I'll be on TV again.

"I turned something down this morning. I haven't pitched any ideas for TV shows in ages.

"If I do and someone likes it, then I'll be back, but if I don't, I won't."

Leigh previously claimed the comedy panel show Celebrity Juice was axed because "nothing is acceptable anymore".

He told The Sun newspaper: "Just as fashion and flared trousers have come back round however many times, comedy tastes change.

"Now, nothing is acceptable anymore - we had ‘the rules were the rules’ in past times, and they’re different now, so of course there are things back then that you wouldn’t do any more.

"You don’t set out to offend anyone, you just set out to make people laugh, but for me, now when I come up with an idea, it has to be a straight one, with just a bit of silliness."
