The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) cast member kept coy when she made the revelation, over a year after she dumped co-star Dan Edgar, 35, in April 2025.
Ella, 25, was asked by TOWIE narrator Denise Van Outen, 51, on the ITV reality show's podcast, You Alright, Hun?, to reveal the most famous footballer who has DM'd her.
She answered: "Oh, that's really bad. I can't say!"
After being pressed by Denise, who also asked Ella for a "clue", the latter insisted: "I can't because I'll ruin any chance I had with him."
Denise asked what team the mystery footballer plays for, and Ella revealed: "England. He's big."
The reality TV star revealed the sportsman messaged her in 2025, but he and Ella are no longer in contact as the star has since got himself a girlfriend.
Ella split from Dan days before she entered the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2025, and he has since struck up a romance with former TOWIE cast member, 35-year-old Chloe Lewis.
Last month, Dan lifted the lid on reuniting with Ella on a trip to Vietnam for the new series of the Essex-based reality show.
He told Closer magazine: "The stuff with Ella is a lot more recent, so naturally, it’s not ideal being away with your ex.
"It came to light that she was still quite upset about a lot of stuff. It’s not nice, I don’t like seeing anyone upset. It was a tough situation to be in."
The hunk then confirmed his romance with Chloe, who quit TOWIE in 2019 after four years, and he reportedly reconnected with at Georgia Kousolou, 34, and 33-year-old Tommy Mallet‘s second wedding in Majorca in June 2025.
Dan continued: "I’m with someone else now, and to be out there and see someone else upset and still trying to manage a friendship.
"It was all new ground to try and navigate. It’s obviously never easy, but we’ve been trying to manage it the best we can.”
He added of his new flame: "She’s very understanding and very grown up as a person anyway. She’s done the show before, and she’s understanding of how it all works."
Ella also reacted to reuniting with Dan.
She also told Closer magazine: "We both realised we couldn’t just be friends.
"We just have this really intense connection. When we broke up, we never really spoke about it. We never really closed that book. And we never really faced our emotions and feelings.
"We’re like the same person. So, when we see each other, all these feelings come back up and reignite. It’s hard, but that’s why I haven’t moved on with anyone, because I know I’m not really there.”
But that is set to change as Ella is reportedly thinking about signing up for Love Island.
