talkSPORT host Alan Brazil is recovering after a "life-saving" operation.
The 66-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United player has presented the radio station's breakfast show since it began in 2000, and Alan's weeks-long absence sparked worry amongst fans and listeners.
Now, the broadcaster has revealed that ongoing health issues forced him off the airwaves temporarily.
On Monday (11.05.26), Alan penned on X: "Hi Guys I hope that everyone's well.
"Some of you will have noticed that I've not been around. I recently had a life-saving operation and I'm deeply grateful to the brilliant medical team who have looked after me.
"It will be some time yet before I'm fully back to myself and for now I am focused on my recovery in private."
The former footballer concluded his post by thanking everyone for their support and well-wishes.
Alan wrote: "Thank you to my family and those close to me who've been supporting me / putting up with me!
"I'll see you all soon AL."
The post's comments section with love for Alan - whose Wednesday, Thursday and Friday breakfast show slot has been covered by talkSPORT regulars, including Gabriel Agbonlahor, 39, and Shebahn Aherne.
One fan typed: "All the very best Al. Been listening to you from when you first started as I drove up and down the country for work at stupid o’clock. Always made me laugh and kept me sane.
"Take it easy get yourself fit and look forward to listening to you again soon. Cheers!"
A second supporter reacted: "Glad to hear you're on the mend, mornings aren't the same without you. Get well soon Big Al, we look forward to your eventual return."
And a third follower said: "Sending you all the love Alan. Take it easy, chill out and get better soon X (sic)."
In February, Alan missed a fortnight's worth of the talkSPORT Breakfast Show due to an ear infection.
He said upon his return: "The big news this morning is I'm alive and kicking. I've never had so many texts and emails asking, 'Are you all right? Are you dead? Are you dying?' Give us a break. Honestly. It was my ears.
"I had a big infection in my right ear, and my left ear was blocked. I was sat here thinking I was going to fall off my chair.
"It's the worst I have been, terrible. These lights (in the studio) don't help. I have said to them to turn the lights down but do they listen? It's stupid."
