Wycliffe actor and father-of-five Jack Shepherd left nearly £1 million in his will, to his second wife Ann Scott, following his death aged 85.
Wycliffe actor Jack Shepherd left nearly £1 million in his will, following his death aged 85.
The dad of five - who passed away in November - gifted his second wife Ann Scott the entire amount, £977,511, according to The Sun.
Jack was best known for playing police officer Charles Wycliffe in the popular ITV detective series Wycliffe, which also featured Jimmy Yuill and Helen Masters, who played his assistants DI Doug Kersey and DI Lucy Lane.
Off screen, he was previously married to Judith Harland - with who he had two children, Jan and Jake Shepherd - but they divorced.
He went on to marry TV producer Ann in 1975, and they had three children, Victoria, Catherine and Ben Shepherd.
Jack was an Olivier Award winner, scooping the Actor of the Year in a New Play accolade for his role as Richard Roma in stage play Glengarry Glen Ross.
He also received a Leading Actor BAFTA TV Awards nod for portraying the titular role in Trevor Griffiths' political drama Bill Brand - about a fictional Labour MP.
As well as his TV roles and theatre appearances, Jack also appeared on the big screen.
He featured alongside Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman in 2007 movie The Golden Compass, which also starred Daniel Craig, Eva Green, Jim Carter, and Sir Derek Jacobi.
Jack portrayed the Master, head of Jordan College.
He also starred opposite comedy actors Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon in 2005 movie A Cock and Bull Story.
He portrayed a surgeon in the film, which also featured Gillian Anderson, Kelly Macdonald, Naomie Harris, Greg Wise, Keeley Hawes, Sir Stephen Fry and David Walliams.
What's more, Jack featured alongside Shirley Henderson in the movie, and he had starred with her six years earlier in 1999 film Wonderland.
John Simm, Gina McKee, and Molly Parker were also part of the cast.
