Heartbeat icon Tricia Penrose gets married four years after shock divorce
Heartbeat star Tricia Penrose got married for a second time on Saturday (02.05.26).
Heartbeat legend Tricia Penrose has married - four years after her divorce.
The 56-year-old star - who played barmaid Gina Ward in the ITV period drama from 1993 until 2010 - and the "love of her life" Chris Hargreaves said "I do" at the stunning Briars Hall Country Club, nestled in the West Lancashire countryside, on Saturday (02.05.26).
It comes four years after she divorced from TV presenter Mark Simpkin, 53, in 2021 after almost 20 years of marriage.
Tricia posted a sweet shot of herself in an elegant white lace gown, cuddling up with Chris, who wore a light grey suit with a black tie, for photos at the wedding venue on X on Sunday (03.05.26).
The Celebrity Big Brother 2013 semi-finalist captioned the joyous upload: "Married the love of my life yesterday xxx (sic)"
Tricia's fans flocked to the post's comments section to congratulate the newlyweds, as one penned: "Congratulations Tricia, wishing you loads of happiness, ..he's a lucky man! (sic)"
A second supporter typed: "Huge congratulations got to admit I had a huge crush on you when you were in Heartbeat (sic)."
And a third follower wrote: "Ahh marvellous..so pleased for you (sic)."
Tricia and Chris got engaged in July 2025 after he popped the question on their seventh anniversary with a huge diamond ring as they headed on a romantic getaway to Tenerife.
The Coronation Street alum showed off her sparkler as she and her man cuddled up in a restaurant for a cute photo.
Tricia shared the adorable picture on Instagram, with the caption: "Our seven year anniversary and heading off to Tenerife. Chris has proposed to me! OMG very happy.
"Happy anniversary to my fiance love you to bits. (sic)"
The Emmerdale star married her ITV's I Want That House co-presenter Mark Simpkin in 2003, but in 2021, the pair, who have sons Jake, 22, and Freddy, 17, together, split in 2021.
An insider told The Sun at the time: "They decided to go their separate ways after realising they had grown apart and it would be better for everyone."
A fortnight after her divorce from Mark, Tricia met Chris, and the smitten couple went Instagram official later in 2021.
