Ashley Roberts is "still traumatised" by the thrilling trials she did on I’m a Celebrity...South Africa.

The Pussycat Dolls member and four-time Olympic gold medallist long-distance runner Sir Mo Farah, 43, face a dizzying 140ft cliff-edge jigsaw challenge above Kruger National Park against ex-Coronation Street star Beverley Callard, 69, and former Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas, 37, in Monday night’s (06.04.26’s) opening episode

And Ashley cannot watch the clips back from the pre-recorded programme - which sees memorable contestants from past series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! return to living in dire conditions and battle it out in challenges in a bid to be named the show's ultimate legend.

The 44-year-old singer is quoted by The Sun as saying: "I’m still traumatised - probably more now than even before. They tried to show me a clip the other day of a trial. I couldn’t watch it. Even talking about it right now, I get a visceral reaction.

"Everything was more extreme, more dirty, bigger portions, like, nastier, smellier, just everything taken to the nth degree, times ten."

Mo added: "I’ve never been challenged that much."

In March, Ashley revealed she refused to do I'm A Celebrity...South Africa two years before agreeing to do the 2026 series because the star did not want to face gruesome challenges and live in harsh conditions again, 14 years after she did that in an Australian jungle on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2012.

However, Ashley changed her mind and signed up for the South Africa-based all-stars spin-off - hosted by 50-year-olds Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly - because she wanted to prove to herself that she is strong.

Ashley made the revelation on the March 10 edition of the Heart Radio Breakfast Show.

She told 55-year-old hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden: "When the boys [Ant and Dec] first came in and told us they were doing this legends show, I think it was like two years ago or something like that, they were like, 'Would you do it?' And I was like, 'No! Never!' I’ve always said I’d never do it.

"There also comes a time when you want to challenge yourself a little bit, and I was like, 'I’m going to prove myself, I can do some wild things.' I said yes."

As well as Ashley, Mo, Beverley and Adam, former professional boxer David Haye, 45, reality TV icon Gemma Collins, 45, and ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp, 79, will be joining them on I'm A Celebrity...South Africa.

Gogglebox alum Scarlett Moffat, 35, 1980s singer Sinitta, 62, comedian Seann Walsh, 40, Red Dwarf alum Craig Charles, 61, and ex-Wigan Athletic midfielder Jimmy Bullard, 47, have also signed up.

Also in episode one of I'm A Celebrity...South Africa - which stars at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX - Sinitta and Seann dash across a 150ft bridge to reach camp, while Scarlett and David battle their way out of critter-filled lodges.
