Christine McGuinness thinks first dates need to be "sexy".

The 38-year-old model has opened up about her dating life since her split from TV presenter Paddy McGuinness, and Christine has now revealed the extravagant lengths she goes to in order to ensure her first dates are as memorable as possible.

Speaking on her BBC podcast, Situationships with Sophie and Christine, the blonde beauty said: "I think first dates need to be excited and sexy. I took three different women to Ibiza for dates, different women, and if it doesn't work out I still had a holiday to Ibiza."

Christine - who was married to Paddy, 52, for 11 years before their split in 2022 - explained why the picturesque Mediterranean island is her go-to first date destination.

She said: "We went to Es Vedra and it is the most beautiful view and energy and it is calm and you can't possibly have a bad time. I don't think that will be beaten."

The model also opened up about her sex life, insisting it is "massively important" to her.

Christine said: "Sex is massively important to me and it matters. I've realised communication is a huge part of it and you should feel comfortable enough to say what you do and don't like."

Despite this, Christine admits that she has found some aspects of dating more challenging since her marriage ended.

The TV star explained: "Not with everyone I've dated but I can't sit and watch a film, I've really struggled. Now when I'm dating again, people are like, 'Let's watch a film,' and I'm like, 'No, why.' I'm trying though."

Meanwhile, Christine previously opened up about telling her three children - twins Leo and Penelope, 12, and Felicity - about her divorce from Paddy.

She said: "They've absolutely blown my mind with how much they understand, and how mature they are. It makes me feel very proud of not just how well I've done as a mum, but as a family."
