Livvy Dunne joins cast of upcoming Baywatch reboot
After building a huge following online as an elite athlete, Livvy Dunne is joining the cast of the upcoming Baywatch reboot.
Livvy Dunne, the social media star and former elite gymnast, has joined the cast of Fox’s forthcoming reboot of the television drama Baywatch.
The 23-year-old will appear as a recurring character on the show named Grace, described as “a highly enthusiastic junior lifeguard”.
Baywatch is scheduled to premiere during the 2026–2027 television season on Fox.
The reboot revisits the long-running beach rescue drama that originally became a global hit in the 1990s.
The new production centres on Hobie Buchannon – the son of the original lead character Mitch Buchannon – and follows a new generation of lifeguards navigating life and rescue work along the coast.
It was given a 12-episode order in September 2025 and is being produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle.
Livvy joins a cast led by Stephen Amell, Shay Mitchell, Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Brooks Nader, Noah Beck and David Chokachi.
Stephen plays Hobie Buchannon, the son of Mitch Buchannon – the role made famous in the original series by David Hasselhoff.
A former Louisiana State University gymnast, Livvy rose to prominence as a collegiate athlete before becoming one of the most prominent figures in college sports marketing.
She became the highest-earning female college athlete and built a social media following of more than 15 million across platforms.
Livvy has also appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and has worked across fashion and media.
Fox described the premise of the reboot in a statement saying: “The wild child Hobie Buchannon we all loved from the original series is now a Baywatch captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Mitch.”
It continues: “Hobie’s world is turned upside down when Charlie, the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad.”
The description adds: “OG heartthrob Cody Madison now runs The Shoreline, the unofficially official Baywatch bar-and-grill, and still puts on the red trunks for the occasional shift saving lives. He’s a mentor to and a friend, providing a second home for his fellow lifeguards… and always offering free wings after a big save.”
The show is run by Matt Nix, who serves as showrunner and executive producer.
Other executive producers include McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. McG will also direct the series premiere episode.
The series is co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle.
Fox Entertainment Global holds domestic distribution rights while Fremantle manages international sales.
