Gogglebox star absent from show after 'fall'
A Gogglebox star has been notably absent from the Channel 4 show, and now he has addressed why.
Gogglebox star Raza Siddiqui has been absent from the show after he "cracked some ribs" following a horror fall.
The fan-favourite took to Instagram on Tuesday (17.02.26) to reveal why he had not been on the sofa reacting to trending TV shows and films with his dad Sid Siddiqui, and brothers Umar Siddiqui and Bassit Siddiqui in the most recent series.
Shots of Raza - who has been on the Channel 4 show since it began in 2013 - hospitalised as well as him recovering at home were posted on the Derby-based family's Instagram account.
The post read: "For you eagle eyed Goggleboxers, you may have noticed that Raza (@razathefaint) hasn’t joined us on the sofa so far this season.
"Sadly he had a bit of a fall, a few weeks back and cracked some ribs. (sic)"
The Siddiqui family then noted that they hope Raza will be back on the show "in a few weeks time" as he is "recovering nicely".
The caption continued: "He’s absolutely smashing his recovery, staying positive and keeping himself entertained with walks, telly, reading and nephew cuddles with Theodore.
"I know you guys reaching out and sending your well wishes will put a bigger smile on his face than morphine ever could.
"Can’t wait for all four Siddiquis to be back on team @c4gogglebox with the rest of the fab families. (sic)"
Googlebox fans rushed to the post's comments section to wish Raza a speedy recovery.
One person penned: "Bless you get well soon, we look forward to having you back on our screens when you are well enough. (sic)"
A second user wrote: "Hope you are soon better and back on the sofa Raza, but take care of yourself. (sic)"
And a third supporter typed: "Oh no get better real soon, look forward to you being back on the gogglebox sofa with your brother and dad. (sic)"
The Siddiquis then thanked fans for their messages in the upload's comments section.
They wrote: "Thank you for all the love guys!! Means a lot!! Xx (sic)"
Away from Gogglebox, Baasit is married to his wife Melissa, and they have two children, daughter Amelia and son Theodore.
It is believed that Umar and Raza are single, and their dad Sid - a retired engineer who moved to the UK from Pakistan aged 16 - is married to his wife, Nasreen.
Sid and Nasreen have two daughters together, but they have never appeared on Gogglebox.
