Dani Dyer's husband thought she was 'joking' about Celebrity: SAS dream
Dani Dyer's husband, Jarrod Bowen, thought she was "joking" when she said she wanted to sign up for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
Dani Dyer's husband thought she was "joking" when she said she wanted to sign up for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
The 29-year-old star has always been a fan of the tough reality show and jumped at the chance to take part, much to the astonishment of her spouse Jarrod Bowen.
Asked why she took part, she told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Because I’m nuts. I’ve always watched it and thought, ‘Would I be able to do it?’.
“The last time I watched, I was sitting with Jarrod, and thinking, ‘I really want to do that’.
“Jarrod was like, ‘Are you joking, Dan?’. When the opportunity came about, I said, ‘I have to do it’. It’s very rare I get to test myself.”
And Dani's dad, actor Danny Dyer, was equally shocked.
She said: “He absolutely loves it.
“He was like, ‘You cannot be my child to want to go into a show like that’.
“I don’t think he’s been on a running machine for a very long time. It’s not his thing.
“But he was like, ‘Just go and have the best time, go and smash it and just go and give it your best, really’. "
But unlike when she took part in Love Island, Danny was proud of his daughter.
She added: “With Love Island, he was devastated. And then it all turned out to be a lot better than he hoped. So for SAS, his hat went off for me.”
Of the rest of her family, she added: “As well as Jarrod, they were all so petrified.
“But they were like, ‘Just go and have a go’.
“They were really proud of me for even wanting to do it.”
Dani - who has four-year-old son Santiago with former partner Sammy Kimmence and two-year-old twin daughters Summer and Star with Jarrod - hopes her stint on the show will inspire her kids in the future.
She admitted: “It has been so full-on.
“It was just nice to do something for myself.
“Santi is of that age where I know he will love watching and I can also show him he can be fearless.
“I might be petrified of things, but you don’t want to put that on to your children.
“You want them to be brave.
“I really hope I can show that to the kids. Mummy can kick ass.
“Santi told everyone Mummy was going into the Army.
“I had to answer a few questions.”
