Carol Wright thought her husband had cheated on her after she found unexpected messages on his phone - when in fact the texts were from their niece.

The 65-year-old TV personality did not realise her and 69 year old Mark Wright Sr's daughter Jess Wright, 40, had given him her old phone until Carol - who has been married to Mark since 1983 - dialled the number, spoke to her niece, and learnt that the messages formed a previous text exchange between Jess and her cousins.

On Jess and 25-year-old daughter Natalya Wright's podcast, Wright at Home, Carol - who also has sons Mark Wright Jr, 38, and 36 year old Josh Wright - recalled the awkward moment, saying: "I was looking through his phone and saw messages saying, 'Hi, love, how are you? Can't wait to meet you,' and all this.

"I was thinking, 'Who is this? What are these messages?'

"Then I rang the number, and it was my niece! It turned out Jess had given her dad her old phone to use, and they were actually old messages to Jess from her cousins."

The Wrights will be celebrating Christmas under one roof this year, and it will be extra special for them as Mark Jr and his wife Michelle Keegan, 38, because it is the first one they will be celebrating with their nine-month-old baby daughter, Palma.

But Jess - who revealed Palma is best friends with her son Presley, three, and Josh's boys Joshua Jr, three, and two year old Dustin - shared there could be tension in the kitchen amongst them when it comes to Christmas dinner.

The Only Way Is Essex alum - who has been married to William Lee-Kemp since 2021 - told the latest issue of New! magazine: "We've always got family feuds over silly little things. Like, who's got the best Christmas trees?"

Model Natalya added: "And who makes the best roast dinner. It's got to be mum."

Jess said: "She's hosting us all this year, so she's going to have to live up to that. There are always pictures of people's dinners going into our group chat and them saying whose food looks better."

And the bickering also covers what Jess, Natalya and Carol have decided to wear that day.

Carol said: "We do squabble sometimes because this one doesn't like this outfit, and that one doesn't like that outfit."

Jess added: "There's the odd rift here and there, but it's generally nice. It's all about the dynamics between mothers and daughters, and what goes on behind-the-scenes."
