Jane McDonald always has late partner Eddie Rothe in her thoughts
Jane McDonald thinks about her late partner Eddie Roth every day - four years on from his death from lung cancer.
Jane McDonald thinks about her late partner Eddie Rothe every single day.
The 62-year-old star was left grief-stricken when the musician passed away from lung cancer in 2021 and admits that the sense of loss will always be with her.
Jane told Bella magazine: "There's not a day goes by that I don't think of (Eddie), talk of him – it's awful.
"I'm not going to butter this up in any way: grief stays with you all the time, but what you have to do is sit it beside joy. You have to bring as much joy into your life as humanly possible, so that you feel more joy than the grief. I'm just about level now."
The Cruising with Jane McDonald host confessed that she is "not bothered" about finding love again.
She said: "I'm not bothered. I've been very blessed. When you meet the right one and you have that amazing relationship, it leaves you full.
"I was so lucky to have Ed, and the laughter and the joy that we had together was second to none. So I'm not bothered if it never happens. But I'm not saying I'm never ever going to meet anyone again, because you just don't know, do you?"
Jane revealed that she has decided to put herself first for Christmas this year by celebrating with friends.
The singer said: "I'm going to go out and with some friends and not have to wash up. Not have to plan it. Not have to have 10 people coming over for dinner! I'm done now; I want to be invited out.
"And I know that's terrible, but once again, I've got to that age where I'm like, 'No, I don't want to do this anymore. I like the family around, I like everything else, but I'm going out with my mates this year.'
"I'll have a wonderful time. I like these friends because we get back at a certain time and then we get into our jim-jams and watch telly like everybody else. I love that."
