Taskmaster has revealed its New Year Treat line-up.

The festive special of the Channel 4 favourite will feature a celebrity five-some competing in two episodes over the holiday period in a format change for the show.

Its New Year line-up will be comprised of Big Zuu, 30, Jill Scott, 38, Rose Ayling‑Ellis, 30, Sam Ryder, 36, and Susie Dent, 60.

The announcement came as series 20 concluded and the show also confirmed the forthcoming fourth “Champion of Champions” event.

Series 20 of Taskmaster drew to its close on Thursday (13.11.25), and the new New Year Treat will be the first time the seasonal special extends across two instalments rather than a single episode.

The five contestants were described as “radically different famous faces from all corners of the entertainment world”.

Big Zuu, the BAFTA-winning TV chef and musician, Jill Scott, the former England footballer, Rose Ayling-Ellis, the actress and children’s-book author, Sam Ryder, the BRIT-nominated musician, and Susie Dent, the lexicographer and presenter, will each battle for the coveted Golden Eyebrows trophy awarded by Greg Davies, with his assistant Alex Horne keeping tabs on the proceedings.

Regarding the Champion of Champions special, the show confirmed the winner of series 20 joins past winners Andy Zaltzman, John Robins, Mathew Baynton and Sam Campbell in the fourth instalment of its face-off.

No broadcast dates have yet been announced for the New Year Treat or the Champion of Champions special.

Meanwhile, series 21 of Taskmaster is scheduled to air in 2026.

Taskmaster has become one of the UK’s most successful and recognisable comedy formats, growing from a small idea at the Edinburgh Fringe into an international hit.

Created by Alex Horne and fronted by Greg Davies, the show’s mix of absurd challenges, improvisation and competitive chaos has won a dedicated audience.

Its move to Channel 4 boosted its profile, while multiple international versions have launched in countries including New Zealand, Sweden and Portugal.

The series has also spawned books, live shows and a huge online following.
