Reacher star Alan Ritchson splits from wife Catherine after 20 years of marriage
Reacher star Alan Ritchson has announced that he and his high school sweetheart Catherine have separated after 20 years of marriage.

The high school sweethearts still have “love and respect” for each other, and their main focus now is co-parenting their sons, Calem, 13, Edan, 12, and 10-year-old Amory.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday (09.12.26), the former couple shared a joint statement, which read: “After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way.
“We grew up together. We built a life and family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world.
“Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us - or the love and respect we will always share.
“The best gift we can give one another - and our boys - right now is friendship, grace and commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be. (sic)”
The Reacher actor and the financial analyst want to navigate their new lives as single people and co-parents privately.
They continued: “We also want to give each other room to grow into the people we are becoming.
“Change is hard enough without the world weighing in. We hope, especially for the sake of our boys, that you will allow our family to move through this chapter with privacy and compassion.”
Alan, 43, and Catherine concluded: “Thank you for supporting us as we continue making the health and happiness of our family our priority - Cat and Alan (sic).”
According to legal documents obtained by the Daily Mail, the War Machine star filed for divorce from Catherine on December 1, 2025, citing “irreconcilable differences,” before they reconciled on March 4 this year.
The pair first dated after meeting during a ballet class in Florida; he was 17 years old and she was 16 years old.
On a 2023 episode of The Road to Wisdom podcast, Catherine recalled: “I’ll never forget seeing him for the first time in the [dance] studio. I turned to my friend Miriam, and I said, ‘Who is that?’
“He, at some point, came up to me and we just got chatting.”
Years after their brief teenage romance ended, Alan and Catherine reconnected when she was in college.
They got engaged in 2005 and tied the knot the following May.
In May 2025, the Fast X alum took to Instagram to pay a sweet tribute to Catherine as they marked their 19th wedding anniversary and Mother’s Day.
Alan shared a video montage made up of clips and photos of them, as well as photos with their sons, with the caption: “I’m the luckiest man alive. To be able to build the treasure that is our marriage and family is and always will be the greatest privilege and success of my life.
“@catritchson you are wisdom personified. Strength incarnate. A tantalizing percolation of joy, adventure and love. The boys and I are so beyond blessed to be able to journey with and for you.
“Happy Mother’s Day/19th Wedding anniversary momma. You deserve to be revered and celebrated forever and always. (sic)”
