GK Barry had to "sit down" when she was asked to work with Jimmy Carr on Am I The A******?

The 26-year-old social media star features as a judge on the new Comedy Central show and was gobsmacked to get the opportunity to work with the comic.

GK told Heat magazine: "I'm not going to lie, when I got the call that he wanted me on the panel, I did have to sit down for a minute. I tried playing it cool and acting like I would think about it, but it was a straight yes."

The influencer – whose real name is Grace Keeling – was "nervous" when she got to meet the 8 Out of 10 Cats presenter but he soon put her at ease.

She said: "I was so nervous when I met him. But he was lovely to me, and we managed to get off to a good start as he also met my dog Noodle, kindly stroking her.

"When we started shooting, it was obvious how nervous I was, but Jimmy tried to help me out. He would ask for my opinion because I was a little bit scared to interject.

"He made me feel comfortable so I could relax and say my piece."

GK, who is also joined on the show by comedian Jamali Maddix, reflected on the big difference between Am I The A******? and ITV daytime show Loose Women, in which she has featured as a panellist since last year.

She said: "Loose Women is very light-hearted and we're all so supportive of each other. There's no swearing, of course, as it's more of a, 'We will support you, queen!', kind of space with the audience.

"Whereas on Am I The A*****? the audience isn't afraid to give it back to us. Jimmy, Jamali and I all have such different opinions – we will go to blows with each other and nothing is ever really off the table."

GK admits that it is "really weird" alternating between the two programmes, although she is relieved that she can be potty-mouthed on the Comedy Central series.

The Saving Grace podcast host said: "It's a really weird switch for me. I love both of the shows, but I really appreciate the freedom to swear on Am I The A******?"
