GK Barry has ruled herself out of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Loose Women star has been tipped to take part in the upcoming series of the BBC Latin and ballroom contest, but she insisted she has "no rhythm" and competing isn't part of her plans for the near future.

Asked about going on Strictly, she told DigitalSpy: "I was born with no rhythm. I'd do it for the spray tan. Can't say that I'm doing it this year.

"But, you know, maybe that will enable me to dance. Maybe one day I could do it, just to teach myself how to rumba. And that could be my two truths and a lie, that I can rumba. "But for now, it's a no."

The 26-year-old star recently released her first BBC documentary, Toxic Gossip, and she is keen to work on more in the future because she is in her "Stacey Dooley era".

She said: "At first I was very nervous, because I'd never really done anything like that before – when people see me online, I'm quite jokey, and I thought, 'I need to learn how to read a room here'...

"I think I'm in my Stacey Dooley era. I quite enjoyed the documentary, so I'm hoping to do more of it. Also it was about something that I'm quite passionate about as well, so I was happy to do it on that."

It was revealed earlier this week that the former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant is joining BBC Radio One to host a series of shows across the year, kicking off with an initial run on 10 September at 1pm for six weeks, and she cannot wait to get started.

She said: "I am really excited to be back hosting a series of my own BBC Radio 1 shows from this September.

"You’ll be hearing my favourite songs, we'll be speaking with some really exciting guests and as always, in true GK Barry style, I promise a lot of humour, chaos and embarrassing stories along the way!"

Meanwhile, stars who have so far been confirmed for the upcoming series of Strictly include Will Best, Lacey Turner, Dani Dyer, Delta Goodrem, Chris Appleton and Cach Mercer.
