Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Amber Davies has been up until 2am trying to learn her Argentine tango.

The former Love Island star and her professional partner Nikita Kuzmin placed second on last weekend's leaderboard, scoring 35 points for their American Smooth in movie week, and she's admitted she less confident in her upcoming dance to Jade's Angel of My Dreams than she has been with her previous performances.

Asked about her upcoming dance on Strictly: It Takes Two, she said: "Worlds apart from last week.

"It's the first time I've looked at a routine and thought 'I don't know if I'm going to be able to achieve that.'

Nikita added: "She messaged me now twice, Monday evening, Tuesday evening, 'I'm not sure Nikita we're going to be able to do that. Are you sure? I know you're confident in me, you trust me.' We will manage that."

Amber admitted: "I was up until last night until 2 in the morning in my kitchen just going over and over the routine, so I could come in today like, OK, I think I am confident with it."

But the West End performer sees Nikita's challenging routines as a "massive compliment" because it proves he has faith in her dance abilities.

She said: "For me, it's a massive compliment because Nikita sets the bar so high and no one believes in me more than Nikita, I've never had someone in my life that... He knows what I can do and he knows what I can achieve."

Nikita - who scored 39 and 40 last series when he performed the Argentine tango with Layton Williams - has teased he and Amber will be giving viewers an "amazing" performance and they are pushing themselves to the limit.

He said: "Argentine tango has a special place in my heart, especially on this show... I and my celeb Amber, we are pushing so hard, we are not taking any breaks,w e are going from 9 til 6 and we are hammering, hammering, hammering. The room is quiet and we just relentlessly go, we want to make it amazing, we want to make it fantastic."
