Alan Davies is convinced Jennifer Aniston tried to "seduce" him when they met at a charity event in the UK.
The 59-year-old actor/comedian performed a stand-up set at a Royal Gala variety show celebrating the 21st anniversary of the Prince's Trust organisation in 1997 and Alan has revealed Jennifer approached him at the afterparty and struck up a conversation about their shared love of dogs.
During an appearance on the What's My Age Again podcast, he explained: "Jennifer Aniston had been flown over and was interviewed on stage by Joanna Lumley.
"She wore this kind of gown with spaghetti straps and this flawless skin and beautiful face and the hair. It was just extraordinary.
"I did a bit of stand-up about my dog and she approached me at the aftershow party - I imagined that she was going to go past me and speak to someone behind me – and she said that she liked dogs.
"And I sort of … it was as if I'd had a stroke or something. I just thought, she wants to chat about dogs."
Alan added: "Of course, what she was trying to do was seduce me. She'd chosen me, of all the people in the party, to approach – someone who was about the right age, approximately the right size for her, sense of humour, dog lover, hair ... she thought, 'while I'm here in London', he could be the one for me.
"And then what I did was I introduced her to the cast of [UK soap opera] Coronation Street."
Alan has been married to writer Katie Maskell since 2007 and during the podcast he revealed they met backstage at the filming of a TV show and he asked for her phone number.
He joked: "She didn’t have her glasses on and that worked in my favour."
It comes after Alan made a candid confession about taking cocaine during the filming of his hit TV show Jonathan Creek.
The 59-year-old actor - who played the lead role in the hit BBC mystery crime drama from 1997 until 2016 - said the drug was shared around by the crew. Alan - who has since quit drinking and drugs - wrote in his memoir, White Male Stand-Up: "I joined in a couple of times and then gave it a miss.
"God knows what the producers would have said, had they known. ‘You’re fired’, probably."
The comedian also revealed he took cocaine "with a bunch of Aussies in a hotel room".
Alan added: “They were great company, but I was taking more cocaine than I’d ever had before. “I left at about 8am, went home and drank three cans of Heineken for breakfast, standing in my stainless-steel kitchen staring at my pool.”
