Kirsty Gallacher is to undergo radiotherapy next month.
The 49-year-old TV and radio presenter, who was diagnosed with benign ear tumour in 2021, took to Instagram to share a picture of a cannula in her right arm as part of her "radiotherapy prep".
She wrote on her Instagram Stories: "And so the radiotherapy prep starts, just under a month to go!"
Kirsty also shared a picture of a yellow mask, which appears to be for her treatment.
She joked: "My 'Hannibal lector' mask... can't wait [grimacing face emoji and laughing face emoji]"
The former Sky Sports News presenter was diagnosed with a benign acoustic neuroma in the inner canal of her right ear in summer 2021.
She has since been open about her ongoing tinnitus battle, admitting it feels like a "constant buzzing".
Speaking on Loose Women, she said: "I’ve learnt to just not think about it, not focus on it. There is a lot of help out there."
Kirsty admitted last month that her tumour is "very dangerous" and is "basically inoperable" because it is in her inner ear canal.
Asked to describe the tumour, she said on the lunch-time talk show: "A couple of years ago, I literally woke up and I couldn't really hear out of my right ear and I thought, 'Oh, that's a bit odd.'
"I'd been flown the week before and thought it's not popped, and went to the doctor and it was a medical emergency because obviously, it could be a brain tumour.
"So, they were brilliant, they sent me straight to see a consultant.
"It took a while for them to work out what was going on because it was after Covid, but it is called an acoustic neuroma, which is a benign tumour that happens to many people. Don't know why."
