Dani Dyer had a "lazy, emotional week" after she was forced to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing.

The TV personality - daughter of actor Danny Dyer - exited the show after suffering a fractured ankle in rehearsals and she has been replaced by fellow Love Island winner Amber Davies and Dani has admitted she's been taking it easy as she recovers.

In a post on Instagram, Dani shared a picture of her strapped ankle and wrote: "It’s been a lazy ... emotional week.

"I was so excited for this side of the year but it really hasn’t ended the way I wanted it too ... taking everyday as it comes whilst my annoying foot gets better."

Dani previously shared her heartbreak over the injury in a statement which confirmed she would no longer be able to continue in the BBC show.

She explained: "I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.

"Apparently doing the Quickstep on a fracture is not advisable and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance, so I've had to pull out of the show.

"To say I'm heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with [dancer partner] Nikita [Kuzmin] but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on."

Nikita is now dancing with Amber and they performed a Waltz on the first live show on Saturday (27.09.25) - finishing third on the leaderboard.

Amber also shot to fame on ITV dating show Love Island - winning in 2017 alongside Kem Cetinay - and she previously admitted joining Strictly is a "dream come true".

She said in a statement: "This has been the craziest 24 hours of my life. I’ve watched Strictly with my family since I was younger and to now be part of the show is a dream come true.

"I’m going to give it my all and I am sending Dani well wishes for a speedy recovery. I hope I do her proud."
