Jayde Adams has "moved on" from 'Strictly Come Dancing' and didn't watch the latest series.

The 40-year-old comedian was part of the 2022 series of the BBC's Latin and ballroom competition when she was paired with Karen Hauer, but she insisted she didn't tune in to recent series, which saw blind comic Chris McCausland win the Glitterball Trophy.

She told the Metro newspaper's 60 Seconds column: "I haven't watched it. I've done it now. Time to move on from some things.

"I'm still in touch with lots of people from the show. I saw Johannes [Radebe] recently, which was nice.

"Vito [Coppola] stays in touch. I speak to Helen Skelton every now and then. Kaye Adams and I are still friends."

Despite liking the company, Jayde insisted seeing "behind the curtain" meant she wasn't as interested in watching as a viewer.

She added: "I've met some really cool people, but once you've seen behind the curtain it's different. No shade to them."

Meanwhile, Jayde revealed her parents are most proud of her role in her friend Sophie Willan's sitcom 'Alma's Not Normal'.

She said: "Because it's so good. Not only is it really well-written and acted but it's also life-changing.

"The compassion and empathy that the writing has for women that feature in the story is going to change lives for people like that in the world, especially in the UK.

"I think that's something to be proud to be a part of."

The working class sitcom - which returned for a second series in October - follows Alma (Willan) who is trying to find meaning in her life as she struggles with strained family relationships and spending time in care.

Jayde added: "My sister Jenna [who died in 2011 from a brain tumour aged 28] would have loved 'Alma's Not Normal'. My sister was quite wild.

"She would have seen herself a lot in that TV show, which is why representation really matters."
