Unbelievable Jeff! Chris Kamara to make football broadcasting return alongside Sky Sports co-star
Sky Sports legend Chris Kamara is to make his football broadcasting return on Boxing Day on Amazon Prime, alongside his good pal Jeff Stelling.
Chris Kamara will make his return to football broadcasting on Boxing Day after receiving the "best phone call ever".
The Sky Sports legend left the channel in 2022 after he was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid in 2021 and then apraxia of speech - a condition affecting the body's ability to perform natural motor functions - but he will make a return to punditry later this month on Amazon Prime Video.
Chris, who is affectionately known as Kammy, will cover the Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Hotspur game for Amazon on December 26th, and he will report to his good pal Jeff Stelling, who he worked alongside for years on Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday.
Revealing the news, Chris wrote on X: "Best phone call ever this afternoon inviting me to do the Forest v Spurs game on Boxing Day reporting back to the Unbelievable @JeffStelling in the studio. (sic)"
The star is grateful to Amazon for offering him the opportunity, because he thought he was "done" with football broadcasting.
He added: "I thought I was done, so it’s a big thank you Amazon @primevideosport
"I’m back"
Jeff, 69 - who left Soccer Saturday in 2023 - admitted he is looking forward to teaming up with his pal, too.
He wrote: "And I am looking forward to it as much as you mate. There’s.a goal at the City ground but for who Chris Kamara ?... (sic)"
Chris, 66, admitted the offer from Prime Video producer Andrew "Buzz" Hornet was "totally unexpected".
He posted: "Love ya mate, Andrew (Buzz) Hornet rang me and I just said “Id love to work with you again on football” totally unexpected (sic)"
