Sydney Sweeney’s dad and grandfather “walked out” of the room after watching the first episode of ‘Euphoria’.

The 25-year-old actress often appears topless and in sex scenes playing crazed schoolgirl Carrie in the sex and drugs-packed HBO drama, and said even though her mum Lisa knew all about the content as she regularly visited her on set, her other close relatives had no idea.

She said in a preview clip for a new episode of the NBC show ‘Sunday Today with Willie Geist’: “My mom visited me on set at the time, so she like knew the story and I talked to her a lot about it – my dad didn’t. I didn’t prepare my dad at all.

“When I talk to my dad, it’s usually not about work,” she said. “We talk, like, father-daughter conversations.”

She added about the time her father Steven decided to watch the drama: “My dad and my grandpa turned it off and walked out.

“But my grandma… she’s a big supporter of mine. She’s a big fan of mine. Actually, I bring her, usually, all over the world to my different sets and I make her an extra.”

Sydney is now promoting her new film ‘Reality’, in which she stars as Reality Winner, the US intelligence leaker who blew the lid on Russian interference in the 2016 American election.

Controversial ‘Euphoria’ is making a comeback for a third season, but a launch date is yet to be announced.

Its 35-year-old creator Sam Levinson’s new show ‘The Idol’, which started on Sky Atlantic on Monday (05.06.23), is also causing a stir due to its racy content.

Its star Lily-Rose Depp, 23, has defended its explicit scenes and Sam against accusations he has turned his new shock HBO drama into “torture porn and a rape fantasy”, according to insiders who spoke to Rolling Stone for an exposé featuring anonymous interviews with those working on the series.

Lily said at the Cannes Film Festival about her rising singer star character: “Jocelyn is a born and bred performer – and I think that extends to every aspect of her life, not just her professional life… I also think that the occasional bareness of the character physically mirrors the bareness that we get to see emotionally in her.

“I was given the privilege of being really involved in the creation of this character and the ins and outs of how she expresses herself.”
