Rohan Campbell would be happy to make horror films “forever”.

The 28-year-old actor has starred in the likes of Halloween Ends, The Monkey, and new festive film Silent Night, Deadly Night, and he is always “excited” when he’s offered a script for another scary tale.

He told SFX magazine: “I just keep finding myself in this position, reading these scripts and working with these people, and I’m really intrigued by this world. I’ll do this forever.

“I’m really excited. I love this genre and I love doing it.”

And Rohan loves the “challenge” of playing a villain.

He said:” There’s a lot more complexity in playing a villain.

“I find the challenge very, very interesting.

“Also, I love doing blood gags, so that’s fun.

“[In Silent Night, Deadly Night,] there was a good four-and-a-half-minute axe-choreography piece that I think is gonna steal the headlines.

“Learning how to do that was so much fun.”

As a viewer, Rohan likes to see gruesome scenes mixed with humour.

He said: “My favourite kind of kill is when it’s also funny, when you don’t know how to react.

“Like when I worked on The Monkey with Osgood Perkins – he was so good at that.

“You’d have the funniest set-up for the most horrible way to go.

“You don’t know how to feel because it’s so funny, but it’s also just a horrific thing.

“That’s my kind of kill. Gore for the sake of gore isn’t really my bag but… you know, I get into it.”
