The Jonas Brothers are reuniting with Disney for a new Christmas comedy.

Siblings Nick, Kevin and Joe - who rose to fame in 2008's Disney Channel Original Movie 'Camp Rock' and its sequel 'Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam' two years later - will once again be working with the House of Mouse with a festive film coming to Disney+.

The project has a working title 'Jonas Brothers Christmas Movie', with the brothers revealing the news with a 'Love Actually' spoof showing them holding up pieces of paper with the announcement written on.

As reported by Variety, it will see the trio "face a series of escalating obstacles as they struggle to make it from London to New York in time to spend Christmas with their families".

The project will be directed by filmmaker Jessica Yu, and she'll be reuniting with 'This Is Us' writers and producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.

Songwriter Justin Tranter - who has worked with the likes of Fall Out Boy, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Chappell Roan - will pen original songs for the movie.

It comes after both Nick and Joe auditioned for the part of Fiyero in 'Wicked', only to miss out to 'Bridgerton' star Jonathan Bailey.

Nick told Variety: "Yes, it's true. Joe and I both went out, and we didn't get it. But that's the life of an actor.

"The role was Fiyero. I think it went really well. I was very happy coming out of the room. I'm a huge fan of the show, and that's a role I always thought it would be fun to play.

"But I think Jonathan is going to do a great job, and I'm sure the movie is going to be great."

And he explained that he has found it challenging to juggle both his acting and music commitments.

He said: "In the last few years, it's been harder because music has been the more dominant of my two gigs. But throughout Covid, I doubled down on my production company and building out my development slate in film and TV. A lot of these projects are things I intend to star in as well.

"So then it's just about working backwards with my team to find the windows that make the most sense.

"The long-winded way of answering your question is, yes I certainly want to see more acting projects on my schedule."

'Wicked' isn't the only project the boys have missed out on, as Joe previously admitted he "felt defeated" after Andrew Garfield was cast in 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

Asked about failed auditions, he told the 'Just for Variety' podcast: "I can name probably a couple. In the moment, you're destroyed or you're defeated. But you realise this person was brilliant.

"I remember years ago I was up for Spider-Man and I was so, so excited and it was the year Andrew Garfield got it. Obviously, he was the right one."

Joe added: "But I remember that was a big thing at the time, going back for callbacks and the director used to be a music video director. So I was like, 'I got an in here'. But you know what? I love the process of auditioning and putting yourself out there and having to prove yourself."
