The 36-year-old Hollywood actress - who is the new face of Calvin Klein's underwear and denim lines - has admitted she strips off her clothes as soon as she gets home and walks around the house wearing nothing but her under garments.

She told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "The Calvin underwear that I’m really into at the moment is the boy shorts, because I sleep in them and then I can bop around the house in the morning and do things.

"When I get home, I take off my pants - especially if it's a hot day - so I’m in my underwear in my house all the time, that’s just who I am."

She added: "I wear basically dental floss underwear. I'm that person. Which Calvin does also make … You feel like there’s nothing there, and that’s wonderful for me."

In the interview, Dakota also revealed she's vehemently opposed to the idea what denim jeans shouldn't be washed regularly - admitting she always cleans her clothes after every wear and often throws them in the freezer to kill germs.

She told the publication: "No, that's [not washing jeans] disgusting. That's absolutely disgusting. Also, do you have a deep freezer in your house? No. Only deep freezers kill bacteria. I’m a really clean girl and I’m going to throw those puppies in the wash every day, every damn day."

Dakota also revealed she prefers a "baggy" jean but she sometimes opts for a more fitted, high-waisted style if she feels "slamming. She added: "It depends on the time of the month really, which I think most women can relate to."

Dakota's Calvin Klein job comes just months after she was appointed a global brand ambassador for the Valentino fashion house.

Speaking at the time of the announcement, Dakota admitted she's thrilled to be working with the company's creative director Alessandro Michele.

Dakota told WWD in a statement: "I'm elated to be joining the Valentino family, and beyond happy to be reunited with my dearest friend Alessandro Michele. "I am honored and excited to begin this new chapter with a team of such wonderful and talented people."

The actress previously worked with Michele during his tenure as creative director at Gucci when she was also an ambassador for the brand.

A statement from the Valentino fashion house added of the actress: "[The] appointment marks the continuation of the maison's ongoing dialogue with individuals that embody a shared commitment to artistry, elegance and cultural resonance."
