Jenna Ortega's Wednesday look was inspired by Siouxsie Sioux, Sophia Loren and "street goths".

The actress has played The Addams Family character in two seasons of hit Netflix show Wednesday and she gets a glamorous make-over for a fundraising gala in season two - and now Ortega's make-up artist Nirvana Jalalvand has revealed the inspiration behind her "intricate graphic goth eye make-up look".

Jalalvand told PEOPLE: "I created this double winged look with a bit of blank space [at the corners] to open up the eye and hark back to that goth classic wing.

"It helped the shape of the eye blend in nicely with the mask that she wears to give that raven look ...

"[I] looked at Siouxsie Sioux and at what street goths are doing with their make-up and reined it in for a softer goth version ... [as well as Sophia Loren who] always had an incredibly structured wing liner."

Jalalvand also revealed the products behind Ortega's day-to-day look for Wednesday - explaining she uses MAC Cosmetics Lip Pencil in Nightmoth to create the perfect pout and she mixes it with a clear lip balm to create a matching eye-shawdow.

The make-up artist revealed she also uses a mixture of other MAC eyeshadows to create the look, adding: "Everything about Wednesday's color palette is very cool-toned and monochromatic, so it's a few MAC Cosmetics eyeshadows mixed together.

"One of them is Glitch in the Matrix, a gray silver with a slight iridescence, and I mix that with Embark, a warm brown.

"I do a wash of that over the lid, and then I use Carbon (a matte black) and stamp that in across the top and bottom lash line to give a bit of definition."

Jalalvand also uses "lashings of mascara" on Ortega and her preferred product is Pat McGrath Labs Dark Star Mascara in Xtreme Black.

She also revealed she doesn't use concealer under the actress' eyes to bring out her natural skin tones, adding: "I put [Jenna's] base product up to where her under eye bag section is, and then I let the purples and the cool tones from the under eyes pop out naturally.

"Against the contrast of the base, it just helps it sing with Carbon in the lash line smoked out. It does give you that undone and slightly underslept looking under eye, which I think works well for Wednesday."
