Hayley Atwell is 'obsessed' with Cynthia Erivo's style
Hayley Atwell has given some insight into her style plans for the 'Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning' press tour.
Hayley Atwell is taking fashion inspiration from Cynthia Erivo.
The 42-year-old star is preparing to start the start the 'Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning' press tour in April after her West End run in 'Much Ado About Nothing' closes, and she's already having thoughts about her styles over the coming weeks.
She told Grazia magazine: "My journey in fashion has become more about my interest in the storytelling behind the look.
"I’m obsessed with Cynthia Erivo, her whole defined look, or Saoirse Ronan, demure, powerful. Tilda Swinton, amazing…"
Hayley insisted she's more focused on the "art" than simply looking attractive.
She added: "That, to me, is the art side of fashion rather than, 'Do I look hot?' "
Cynthia has caught everyone's eye with her elaborate nails, and the 'Wicked' star wore a "proper ode to Oz" for the Oscars over the weekend.
Speaking outside Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre, she said on 'Live From E! The Oscars 2025 red carpet': “It takes a while and every time we do a carpet we do them over.
"This time we did a proper ode to Oz. The Emerald City, all the green and the gold and the guild.
“We knew this is the last one, so we wanted to do something big and special.”
Meanwhile, Cynthia opted for a custom dark green velvet Louis Vuitton ballgown with exaggerated hips, shoulders and a pointed collar, which she admitted was a nod to Elphaba's green, Oz, and old Hollywood.
She added: “I always wanted a big dress for the Oscars if I made it here. And here we are in this wonderful, giant big green dress. And I feel amazing in it.”
