Cardi B had a green version of her show-stopping Met Gala gown as backup.

The 'WAP' hitmaker has shown off the alternate colour of her epic black Windowsen gown with a never-ending tulle train that took she rocked to the fundraising ball at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (06.05.24).

Showing off the other dress, she wrote on X: “Green or Black?”

Quizzed by one follower on why she didn't opt for the green, she replied: “It wasn’t photographing well …It translated different on all lighting and angles on camera."

In a behind-the-scenes clip, she admitted: “It’s tight right there. It gotta be cut.

“I wanna get it over with. Every time — I feel like every year we do this, it’s just like.”

And it seems the anxiety of the Met got all too much as Cardi - who has attended five times - claimed she won't be returning in 2025.

She admitted: “Next year I’m not doing it.”

Her stylist, Kollin Carter, dubbed her look “The Black rebellious Rose" in line with the 'Garden of Time' dress code.

Meanwhile, Cardi recently admitted finding clothes that fit her curves is “not easy”.

The 31-year-old rapper spoke about her battle to find suitable outfits in a chat with Kollin to mark him being named in The Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of the entertainment industry’s most influential stylists.

She told the publication: “There are so many obstacles against us. For example, this body is not meant for a size two. I’m very hips, (bum), and that’s me”.

Cardi – born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar – added dressing her curvy figure “was not easy” but said she and Kollin “make it look easy”.

She added: “Our door was closed many times… but we’re here because we do it well.

“I’m not going to be humble about it.”

Kollin said their hard work has paved the way for other women in the industry with curves and caused a “cultural shift”.

He added: “I don’t think there were many women like Cardi who existed in the fashion space.

“Now there are a ton of other rap females who aspire to be in that space because they see what’s possible. We set trends.”

Kollin also discussed Cardi B’s famous 2019 Met Gala gown designed by Thom Browne, which made headlines due to its ostentatious train – and landed the star on every best-dressed list the night of the event.

He added: “That look broke Cardi B into the next level of the fashion world. “People who didn’t take us seriously were like, ‘OK, they’re here to stay.’”
