Trinny Woodall vows never to stop dyeing her hair as she hates greys!
Despite stars such as Andie MacDowell proudly displaying their natural silver locks, Trinny Woodall has vowed never to stop dyeing her hair as she hates having grey tresses.
Trinny Woodall has vowed never to stop dyeing her hair as she hates having grey locks.
The fashion expert turned beauty products entrepreneur – who rose to fame as one half of presenting duo Trinny and Susannah on the 1990s makeover show ‘What Not To Wear’ – turned 60 on 8 February and says she is entitled to age how she likes, even if it means bucking the trend of displaying her real hair like 65-year-old actress Andie MacDowell, who has recently been proudly displaying her natural silver look on red carpets.
She told The Independent: “Everyone’s entitled to how they want to age – some people might say, ‘Trinny, why do you keep dyeing your hair? You should go grey naturally’. Not in a million years! I have (rubbish) coloured grey hair, I’m not going to do that. I don’t love grey hair on me.”
Trinny founded her Trinny London beauty brand in her 50s, and says she’s “more confident” as she enters her sixth decade.
She added: “I think I feel that I really know who I am. The benefit of age is you really discover who you are. And you don’t worry what people think.
“In my 20s I definitely didn’t have that self-belief.
“I found 50 to be quite a freeing decade, and I find this to be an even more freeing decade.”
Trinny spent years suffering acne, which she says was “very debilitating” and she now posts her skincare routines almost daily online for her 1.2 million Instagram followers.
As well as her habit of dyeing her hair, she has been open about how she gets Botox twice a year.
She added: “As much as I do Botox, you know, I’ve had CO2 laser for my acne scarring, the consistency of my skin is down to ingredients I continually put on my face every day.
“I have one or two friends in the acting profession and I know they don’t have a good skincare routine and they do Botox and whatever.
“And on screen they look great, but I look at their skin close-up and I see congested skin. I don’t see a clear, vibrant, energetic skin.”
