Martin Garrix has been left "truly heartbroken" after he was forced to cancel his concert in Mexico this weekend after undergoing urgent surgery.

The 29-year-old Dutch DJ had been suffering from appendicitis, which requires immediate medical attention, and has therefore had to pull out of The Festival International Del Globo in León, Guanajuato, on Saturday (15.11.25).

In a social media statement, he penned alongside a picture in his hospital room: "I’m truly heartbroken to share that due to an unexpected case of appendicitis and the surgery that followed, I’m unable to perform at the Festival International Del Globo this saturday. my doctors and team have strongly advised me to rest and recover to avoid any post-surgery complications. please know this decision wasn’t made lightly — I have some of my favorite memories ever performing in this incredible country and at @figleon !! thank you so much for your understanding, love and support.. a good reminder for me that I’m human too, and my body needs some extra time to properly heal. sending lots of love — I’ll be back soon, I promise. (sic)"

He signed off the post: "big hug,

"Martijn."

Martin was the headliner of the festival's Dream Nite event.

Meanwhile, the Animals hitmaker - who recently joined U2's Bono onstage to perform their UEFA EURO 2020 anthem We Are the People at Colorado's Red Rocks  - has just been added to the lineup for Ultra Music Festival 2026.

The producer will play a B2B set with his Inside Our Hearts collaborator Alesso in Miami.

The festival takes place on March 27, 28, and 29.
