John Lewis opts for upbeat '90s club classic for this year's Christmas ad
Labrinth has reimagined Alison Limerick's '90s club classic Where Love Lives for the 2025 John Lewis Christmas advert.
The 2025 John Lewis Christmas advert features the original '90s club smash Where Love Lives by Alison Limerick and a modern version by Labrinth.
The festive season is well and truly underway now that the annual commercial by the department store has landed.
After the 2024 promo was soundtracked by Richard Ashcroft's solo cover of his former band The Verve's melancholic hit Sonnet, marketing agency Saatchi and Saatchi has opted for an upbeat, party-starter this year.
The commercial sees a father and son bond over the song after he gifts his dad a vinyl of Where Love Lives in a heartwarming short that shows the power of music.
The synopsis reads: “If you can’t find the words, find the gift.
“We don’t always know how to say how we feel. Not out loud. Not properly. But then comes Christmas and something in us wants to try.
“This is the story of a dad and his son, and the gift that helps them find their way back to one another. Because, sometimes, a gift can say the things we can’t.”
John Lewis is selling a limited-edition black 12″ vinyl version of Alison Limerick’s Where Love Lives and Labrinth's version.
All profits from the record will go to the Building Happier Futures fund.
Over the years, the likes of Sir Elton John (Your Song), Elbow (Golden Slumbers), Tom Odell (Real Love), and Lily Allen (Somewhere Only We Know) have had the honour of recording the soundtrack to the iconic advert.
