Nick Jonas is working on his first solo album since 2021's Spaceman.

The Jonas Brothers star is said to have been given a "confidence" boost from the pop group's 20th anniversary tour - dubbed Jonas20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour - which kicked off in August and is due to wrap up in December.

According to an insider, the 33-year-old singer has been back in the studio working on new tracks between shows, and both he and his record label are hopeful that a new record could arrive within the next year.

The source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: “Nick has loved the Jonas Brothers tour. It’s helped him get his confidence back as a solo artist.

“He’s already back writing and recording in the studio.

“Rather than [it] just being a bit of fun, there is a creative vision for the project.”

The Jealous singer previously revealed he always plays his new music to his wife, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, 43, first, as her opinion matters most.

He told GQ Hype while promoting his previous record: "She's the first person I play stuff for. Her input and opinions mean a lot to me, especially when it's something so directly tied to our experience and our relationship. She loved it, which was great.

"It's important to have that natural dialogue. If there was something she was working on that I didn't feel was 100 per cent what it could be, and vice versa, we would share that with each other out of love and respect for one another."
