The 29-year-old actor's alter ego Nate came to a grizzlgy end when he was buried alive and bitten by a rattlesnake and he admitted it wasn't the easiest thing he'd ever been asked to shoot.
Speaking to co-star Colman Domingo, who was guest host of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he joked: “I think Sam [Levinson] brought me back to torture me.
“It was like, six weeks of me just getting beat by a seven-foot guy.
" I was just running the whole time...
“I got locked in a coffin for two days straight with prosthetics and a fake tongue, and I couldn’t see out of my eyes. And then Sam put snakes into the coffin.”
But Jacob insisted he was "fine with it" and didn't find the boa constrictor that was playing the rattlesnake particularly "threatening".
He said of the reptile: “He had a very nice personality. He was very docile and very sleepy. I don’t think he’d had a lot of sun.
“I was kind of nudging him, trying to get him to get active and do the scene, ‘cause he was meant to be threatening. But he was like a little dog. He just kept curling up at my feet.
“He'd drop down the tube and then he'd sort of slither down, and then he'd find a little warm spot.”
And Jacob ultimately didn't find his performance in the moment too tough.
He said: “You don’t have any lines. So you just have to go like, ‘Ahhhhhh!’ That’s all you gotta do. It’s great.”
While being buried in the coffin may not have been too daunting for the Wuthering Heights star, he did reveal he has some other phobias - the dark, dying and, bizarrely, dishwater.
He explained: “You know when it gets like little bits of pulled chicken in there, a little bit of leftover lentil.
"It's like lukewarm all the time. There's nothing you can do about it. You get your fingers in there.
“You don’t know what’s in that dish water.”
