Jason Derulo under fire over underfloor aquarium in California home

Jason Derulo has come under fire after revealing he keeps a shark and a manta ray in an aquarium in the floor of his home.
The 36-year-old was giving streamer N3on a tour of his sprawling abode in Tarzana, California, when he showed off the unusual addition.
As the pair walked around the house, the sea creatures could be seen swimming in the water beneath their feet.
The Talk Dirty star was quickly slammed by people on subreddit group Fauxmoi for the under-floor aquarium, with many accusing him of being “cruel” and others saying it “should be absolutely illegal”.
One wrote: “There is absolutely no reason to do this. I hate celebrities that treat animals like a shiny toy they want to show off. He needs to be reported.”
Another added: “Shark(s). Multiple. In a kiddie size swimming pool. I counted at least 3. Also stingrays. Terrible look.”
While a third called it the “ultimate d*** move”, and wrote: “That's a living creature, not a decoration. And an empty f***ing tank at that. Not a shred of anything that could mimic a natural habitat.”
As someone else said: “I think people get dismissive over aquatic animals because ‘They’re just fish’ but this is cruel.”
While another wrote: “He could have a little robot fish in there or just a visual effect, for the exact same look. The cruelty is the only addition.”
Someone else said: “There’s not even anything enriching in there - my childhood goldfish had a better setup.”
The criticism of Derulo comes after he spoke about his wish for such an aquarium during a chat with Graham Bensinger about his Californian home.
He said: “I came up with the idea of creating, like, a really large one on the floor. There's a forest shark in here, and then a stingray.”
While the singer there “used to be a lot of fish in there”, he quickly discovered that the sharks couldn’t “coexist” with the fish.
He explained: “The shark, they don't want to coexist. They want to eat them, so ... they ate all the fish, yeah.”
