Kerry Katona 'in bits' after mum Sue suffers 'horrendous' injury
Kerry Katona has been distraught this week after her mother broke her back.
Kerry Katona was "in bits" after her mother was rushed to hospital with a broken back.
The former Atomic Kitten singer has opened up on a "horrendous" few days after her mum Sue's injury, which has resulted in the doctors asking Kerry an incredibly difficult question for the future.
She wrote in her column for new! magazine: "It's been a really tough week. My mum's been taken really poorly. She's got a broken back. Her bones break really easily.
"I rang to see how she was and the doctor said, 'Can you come in straight away because she's coming in and out of consciousness', and they didn't know why. It's been horrendous.
"They asked me that if the worst happens if I want to resuscitate her? I was in bits."
The 45-year-old star admitted a "heavy" question like that is hard to process.
She added: "When the doctors are asking those kind of questions, it's very heavy on your shoulders.
"I'm all my mum has so it's not nice seeing her like that."
However, Kerry revealed how she feels grateful having partner Paolo Margaglione, 45, by her side after they met almost a year ago on Channel 4 reality show Celebs Go Dating.
She said: "Paolo is just my safe space. He calms me so much. I can't express enough what a beautiful soul he is. He's just the most beautiful, beautiful man.
"This has been the most amazing year of my life. I've met Paolo and I've worked so hard on myself. I'm in a really good place, but it's like my body's got trapped trauma from the past because I'm not in fight or flight.
"I feel very safe and secure. I can't believe I met him on a TV show. It'll be a year in two weeks' time."
It's been a tough few weeks for Kerry, who recently revealed she feared she was having a stroke after being rushed to hospital when her face began to change.
After returning to her hotel and being unable to access a doctor, Kerry travelled to hospital, where she was treated as a suspected stroke patient and transferred by ambulance for further care.
She later underwent scans that ruled out a stroke, with doctors instead identifying a neurological issue linked to stress affecting signals to her face.
Last week, she opened up about how she is still looking and talking "differently" in the aftermath.
She wrote in new! magazine: "I know I'm talking differently and I know my face looks different after my suspected stroke, but it's actually loads better. It comes and goes. It is what it is."
Kerry tries not to think about her suspected stroke because she suffers from "severe" health anxiety, which can lead her to "truly panic" if she reads comments about her body.
She added: "I've just got to try and not think about it, because I'm the worst hypochondriac in the world. It's awful for my family, I think they're all fed up and sick of me at this point.
"I have severe health anxiety, so when I start reading all the comments and I start learning all these new things that could be wrong, it makes me truly panic."
