Lake Placid (1999)

Steve Miner directed the 1999 film Lake Placid, which tells the story of a palaeontologist and a sheriff who are terrorised by a giant crocodile in Maine.

The giant croc is cared for by Delores - played by the late Betty White - a woman who, after admitting the reptile had taken her husband’s life, protects the animal and even feeds it cows.
