Joey King: Gypsy Rose Blanchard - The Act

Joey King shed her Disney Channel sweetheart roots to play Gypsy Rose Blanchard in The Act. Capturing the high-pitched, childlike vocal register of the real-world Munchausen syndrome by proxy victim, King masterfully navigated the complex psychological landscape of a girl trapped in an abusive household. Her nuanced performance tracked how she shifted from a helpless victim into a co-conspirator in one of the most heavily publicised, viral family murder cases of the modern era.
