Going Solo with Billy Madison
After being abruptly fired from SNL in 1995 alongside friend Chris Farley, Sandler got the ultimate box office revenge by launching his feature film career with Billy Madison. Co-written by Sandler himself, the absurd comedy about a grown man repeating school to inherit his father's hotel empire proved he could easily carry a movie. The film became a massive video-rental hit and firmly established his signature "lovable man-child with anger issues" persona.
