Beyoncé – Scaptia beyonceae (Beyoncé’s Horse Fly)

Beyoncé became the inspiration for an Australian horse fly species named Scaptia beyonceae in 2011.

Australian scientist Bryan Lessard chose the name because of the insect’s distinctive golden hairs, which reminded him of Beyoncé’s iconic style. The researcher said the unusual naming was also a way to celebrate one of the world’s most influential performers.
