During a London press junket on 22 April 2015 for the comic book blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron, Robert Downey Jr. faced an incredibly jarring ambush from British journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy. The interview began smoothly before taking a dark turn as Guru-Murthy pivoted away from Marvel to aggressively interrogate the actor about his historic substance abuse, past prison time and personal political views. Visibly uncomfortable and declaring the situation was getting "a little dark," a classy but firm Downey Jr. stood up, shook his head, walked out of the room, and told the reporter on his way out that the line of questioning was entirely inappropriate.
