The Beatles legend explained in 2021 that he had opted to stop signing autographs because he finds the practice a "bit strange".

McCartney, 83, told Reader's Digest: "It's always struck me as a bit strange – 'Here, can I write your name down on the back of this till receipt please?' Why? We both know who I am."
