Some of the roles that Kurt is best known for were originally set for other very well-known actors. Patrick Swayze was originally meant to play Gabriel Cash in Tango and Cash, but dropped out to make Road House.

Similarly, the part of the suave but sinister stuntman, Mike, in Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof had originally gone to Mickey Rourke. But Mickey quit during pre-production, which kickstarted a long working relationship between Kurt and Tarantino.
