Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande
The Wicked stars are proving that a plant-based lifestyle can fuel both talent and stamina. Erivo - who plays Elphaba in Wicked - has followed a vegan diet for over nine years. She first went plant-based in 2018 to protect her health and vocal cords, telling Bon Appétit: “I don’t have dairy because I’m a singer, and quite frankly, I don’t want to mess around with my vocal cords.” The positive effects on her body reinforced her choice, and even with a whirlwind schedule of performances and travel, she keeps her diet on track with snacks like seaweed chips, peanut butter and avocados.
Whilst Ariana - who stars as Glinda alongside Erivo - has championed veganism since 2013, motivated by her love for animals.
She once said: “I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding."
